ROB
MANNINO.
The Kulka Group has an incredible team of leaders who have helped shape the company into what it is today. Among them is Rob Mannino, the Chief Operating Officer. But he’s more than just a COO – he’s a fighter, a survivor, and an advocate for those who are facing challenges.

Back in November 2020, Rob started experiencing a strange symptoms – half his face became paralyzed. After several doctor visits, he was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. But the journey to his diagnosis wasn't easy – he had to go through multiple tests and visit a neurologist and hematologist. Eventually, he was told that he had a rare blood disorder and was urged to see a doctor immediately. However, the call came just a day before Christmas Eve, and he was told that no one would be available until after the holiday.

It was Christmas Day that Rob found out he had a jak2 mutation, which in 99% of cases, was blood cancer. The diagnosis left him feeling scared and uncertain about the future. But then he reached out to his friend Meagan Doyle, who works with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). With the help of Meagan and her team, he was put in touch with the great Dr. Oscar Lahoud, who took an hour out of his busy schedule to explain every detail of Rob's diagnosis and what to expect next.

Thanks to the support he received, Rob's journey became a lot more manageable. Two years later, he feels healthier than ever, and he’s grateful for the support he received from LLS.

This experience inspired Rob to become more involved in the fight against blood cancer, and he's now serving as the Corporate Walk Chair for LLS's Light the Night Walk. Rob is working alongside Victoria Catoir, the LLS team, and a fantastic committee to make a difference in the fight against blood cancer.
Rob's journey is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there's always hope. His experience also highlights the importance of having a support system and finding people who can help you navigate difficult times. At the Kulka Group, we're proud to have a leader like Rob who not only inspires us with his resilience but also makes a positive impact on the world. We're honored to support him in his fight against blood cancer, and we encourage everyone to join the fight by registering for Light the Night or reaching out to Rob for more information.
