We’re proud to share that Team Mannino-Kulka Fights Cancer was named the #1 Friends and Family Team at the 2023 Long Island Light the Night, hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This recognition highlights not only the strength of our team, but the impact of coming together for a cause that hits close to home.
Team Mannino-Kulka was formed in support of Rob Mannino, The Kulka Group’s Chief Operating Officer and a blood cancer survivor. Rob’s diagnosis and recovery brought the realities of this disease into sharp focus for all of us. What started as a show of support quickly evolved into a long-term commitment to advocacy, fundraising, and awareness. Today, the team stands as a reflection of our company’s values—supporting one another, pushing for meaningful change, and giving back to the community around us.
Light the Night is one of LLS’s flagship events, held annually in cities across the country. It brings together survivors, families, friends, and supporters for an evening of solidarity, remembrance, and hope. Walkers carry illuminated lanterns—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of those lost—symbolizing the personal stories and connections behind every step. The funds raised through this event go directly toward research, patient services, and policy advocacy aimed at improving outcomes and quality of life for those affected by blood cancers.
In 2023, Team Mannino-Kulka came together with determination and heart, organizing fundraisers, spreading awareness, and building momentum throughout the year. Thanks to the generosity of our friends, families, colleagues, and partners, we were able to raise a significant amount of money for LLS—ultimately earning the top spot among all Friends and Family Teams on Long Island.
This recognition is deeply meaningful to us—not because of the title, but because of what it represents: progress, resilience, and the power of collective action. We walk to honor Rob and everyone who has faced a cancer diagnosis, and we walk because we believe in the work LLS is doing to improve the future for so many others.
To everyone who contributed—whether by walking with us, donating, or simply helping to spread the word—we extend our heartfelt thanks. Your support fuels our mission and helps drive real change.
We’re looking forward to continuing this work and growing the impact of Team Mannino-Kulka Fights Cancer in the years ahead.
