From Perspective to Purpose: Devin Kulka Finds True Meaning in Supporting LLS

Devin Kulka's journey with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) started six years ago when he was looking for something to put his life into perspective. At that time, he was going through a lot personally and professionally, and he needed something that could help him make a difference in the world. LLS gave him that opportunity and held a special place in his heart ever since.

Devin didn't know it at the time, but his involvement with LLS would become even more meaningful and personal years later when his business partner, Rob Mannino, was diagnosed with blood cancer. Devin believes that everything happens for a reason and that his involvement with LLS was meant to prepare him for this moment.

When Devin received a text message from Rob that said, "Jak2 Gene Mutation, I may have only a couple of months to live," it hit him hard. He felt like he had to do everything in his power to help his friend and business partner. Devin immediately contacted LLS, and they sprang into action, providing Rob with the support he needed and connecting him with top doctors, including the incredible Dr. Oscar Lahoud.

Devin felt like everything he had done with LLS in the past was leading up to this moment. He was grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the world, but he was even more grateful that he could use his experience to help someone he cared about deeply.

Rob's cancer was not a death sentence, and with the help of LLS, he was able to manage his condition and become an advocate for the cause. Today, Rob is chairing the Light the Night Campaign, and Devin and Rob have set a goal of raising $1,000,000.

For Devin, this journey with LLS has been nothing short of transformative. It has taught him the power of purpose and the importance of giving back. He believes that his involvement with LLS was meant to prepare him for the moment when his friend would need him the most.

The story of Devin and Rob is a powerful reminder of the impact that we can have on each other's lives. Devin's involvement with LLS allowed him to make a difference in the world while also providing him with a sense of purpose and perspective. When Rob was diagnosed with cancer, Devin was ready to step up and do everything he could to help.

In the end, Devin's heart is filled with gratitude for LLS, for Dr. Lahoud, and for the opportunity to make a difference in the world. He knows that his journey with LLS was not a coincidence, but rather, it was leading him to this moment when he could help his friend and business partner.

As Devin says, "Everything happens for a reason, and sometimes, we don't know why until much later. I believe that my involvement with LLS was meant to prepare me for this moment, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the world and to help someone I care about deeply."

Devin and Rob invite you to join them on October 21st as the Light the Night at Eisenhower Park. Together, we can honor those who have lost their battles, celebrate those who are survivors, and raise funds and awareness for a great cause. Because as Devin says, "When we come together to fight against cancer, we can accomplish great things."
